OK So the other day with nothing to build till pay day i found and went the though the old spears box,I thought practice practice practice and put this together, to give me the chance to work on my weather technique.These wood metal and other bits in there i am happy with one or two bits but i failed to get the wood to look like wood which i must admit pi**ed me of a bit,So any help and advise would be great to help me along the road.

Hi Andrew, the washes look good but that is just the start. First , I would fill the ejector pin marks inside the grenade case, and then do some blending with various tones of oil colors [ I am assuming that is what you used] and maybe some drybrushing to eliminate "tide marks" where the washes end. As for wood grain you can paint that on with oils or acrylics. Try painting the wood a different color with oils and then drag a tooth brush, or a stiff bristle brush across the wet paint , therefore creating wood grain. Thanks guys great help i;ll give that a go panzergoth just hope i can pull it off right.
