Howdy,

Just wondering if anybody has tried to get parts from AFV Club? I bought a WC 63 Big Shot (#AF 35S18) and it was missing the J sprue tree. I photo copied the request form, filled it out and mailed it to the address on the side of the box. This was back in January and I have yet to receive anything.
Is this to long to wait or are they just slow? Anyone have a different experience or the same?

Just curious.

I made a similar request to Trumpeter last month. I didn't get an acknowledgement or anything to know if they even read my email.

Possably you could PM Ted Hayward, he did an interview with AFV Club. He might know about their policies, or might be able to contact them. The interview is on the front page here.

I also tried the US importer for a piece missing off of my M109A2 kit. I received an email right away but then nothing. I emailed them a few more times and finally gave up. About 8 months after that, my part showed up. I figure it took them a while to get a replacement part and that they didn't forget about me...they just suck at communication

I sent the missing part form from the instruction sheet of my M42 Duster straight to AFV Club informing them of a missing sprue and got a replacement in the mail about 3 weeks later.

Hi Willem,

try Astromodel.it. They are the European Importeur for AFV Club.

I have spoken to some of the staff at AFV Club about this issue some time ago and was told that the E-mail option is the best option.

yes but if they dont even answer back there then, i did send them 2 emails/month for 2 1/2 months (5 emails) a year ago but i have still not got any answer or any part from them...
If it would work for everyone that would be nice.... I have not asked for a afv club part but for a hobby fan part but maybe they have better service on the plastic kits then they have on their more expensive resin kits

I requested some parts for their M38 jeep kit via email. I heard nothing for about 6 mos, then all of a sudden I got a reply saying my parts were available and shipping. They arrived about a week later. No idea if this is their usual way of doing things, but that is how it went for me.

Still nothing, zilch, zippetidoodah on every available contact option with Merit. Very unbecoming of such an organisation.

3 days later and still nothing from any of the parties that should be able to provide an answer. What a joke.

I did not ask for replacement parts but additional sprues from an AFV Club kit I needed to complete a project. No luck in contacting AFV Club whatsoever. However, modeling forums offered info regarding moon03tw seller on eBay, who can supply sprues from AFV Club kits. I contacted the guy and he helped me out... I bought the sprues directly from him.

It is a bit different situation, but if everything else fails, try contacting moon03tw.

Is he able to order those sprues directly from AFV Club or does he break up complete kits? Because in the latter case I can do that myself which is what I am looking to avoid.

I'm not sure how he does it. I ended up paying $8 for two complete sprues I needed + shipping.
