Well, here we go again.
I've started the 25pdr., I'm build the '43 version with the muzzle brake.
The part, X55, that I had planned on using was out of round when looking down the barrel from a head on shot. Not good.
Here's some pix of the muzzle brake, before drilling out and after.
The silver color is prep. to have the rivets, bolts come out better during paint, weathering.

Hey KoSprueOne,
Thx.
Yep, and that's what was used. I find a twist drill, if not punched or placed right, will walk and grab on to the surface, thus making the hole oblong. Speed setting one on a Dremel was the speed for this, with small movements.
Thx.

Hi Ant,
Thx,
I've done some more work on it last night. Filled gaps, sanded barrel, and started gun trail.
Anyways, Head back out on road today, taking both kits with me. Going to do progress of builds out on the road. Hopefully next progress post will be in 2-3 days.

Hi Ant,
Oh come on, That's the fun part!!!
All kidding aside, I made some progress on the build, completed the trail, installed the gun, and the sheild, and put the axle on. I'll post the progress pix's tomorrow when I can get a better connection.

Hey Gang,
Here's some more pix's of the 25pdr. build. There's some stuff I ran into that don't fit quite right on the trail. Their pretty noticeable in the pix's.

Thx Martyn.
Had some issue with the gun trail. But I've got them fixed,(semi) for the time being. Stiil needs alittle putty to fill in the gaps. Hope to have the limber started soon.

Well, I think it's time for a build summary for the 25 pdr. Field Gun.
Overall the build went pretty smoothly. There were issues with the build which I'd like to share with everyone who's not had the chance to build this kit.
I found the Trail construction to be the main point of most of the challenges with this build. The Gun Cradle was also an area of concern.
I'll start with the Gun Cradle concerns first. Parts fit, part X33 and X32 need to be sanded on the underside and seam gaps filled. When the gun body was installed there was some side to side movement issues in the rail upon recoil. Less than 1/64 of an inch shaved off should to the trick to get the side to side slop out.
Next, The Gun Trail concerns. Parts X38 and X39 of the gun trail needed major sanding when put together due to high spot. This reared it ugly head when part X19 was dry fitted and contuined to the front of the Trail causing X50,36,46, and 26 to need some work as well to fit correctly.
The fixing of the saddle and the sheild had some minor fit issues, but nothing of concern.
Finally, the firing platform. When showing the Gun in the "transport" position, Part X54 and X44 seems too loose on the underside and does not sit correctly under the Gun trail. Same can be said in the "firing" position when part X53 is used. Also the wheel fit to the axles on the 25 pdr. are loose and they fall off. Nothing alittle glue can't fix, right
As for the Limber carrier's construction, minor fit issues. I think the wheels would be the only concern with the Limber, they fall off the axles. Glue fix also.
Hope this will help those you've not had a chance to build this kit. I'm sure I've missed some areas, like the firing handle missing from part X16.
Remember, this was a OOB build, no frills. Thanks for tuning in. Paint's next.
