Hey folks,
I just finished Zvezda's BTR-80A and I want to put in a diorama. I have seen pictures of them in service with several countries but not Russia. Does any know if Russia has fielded them in combat, perhaps South Ossestia in 2008? Any help is greatly appreciated.

It is in service with the Russians in pretty good numbers. It is also used by the following (and maybe more I missed?)
Hungary
Kazakhstan
N. Korea
Sri Lanka
Sudan (called the Shareef)

Wish youd post some pictures of your build - Im working on one now with alot of AM stuff. I hate redoing all those hatches!

Don't know if they were used in Ossetia, but BTR-80As have been spotted abundantly in North Caucasus before. An armor and inf. brigades stationed in Abhazia are now fully outfitted with BTR-80A and T-90A MBTs.
