Okay, simple question, I'm sure its just a mater of retardation on my part.
I have been working on my Hanomag for the AFV campaign...I have tried to preshade the unit...light gray primer, NATO Brown preshade. As soon as I put the layer of german gray over it, you cannot see the shading. I am going as thin of a coat as possible, yet nothing.
The tamiya is thinned 50/50. The only thing that I can think is I don't have the paint thinned enough.
Thoughts?

dunno, thats really odd. The only thing i can think of is that the primer and the brown both have about the same darkness, so when the grey goes over it the actual colours underneath do not have as much affect as the darkness and the shading does not show through. i find that hard to believe though. you are probably just painting too thick, but i'd try using a black primer to see if that helps. i have never had any problems using black preshading for a grey vehicle.
