Thanks guys. To get the built-up mud effects I apply small piles of pigment and then just give them a dab from a slightly soaked brush of thinner (too much thinner will cause it to spread out too much).

Thanks James. The base is my simple formula: painted Das Clay slab with my patented "Polymeric Sand" , Silfor grass Tufts, and Pigments sprinkled dry on top. The Polymeric sand is for sidewalk paver joints to prevent weeds, so I guess it could also work as a home maintenance tax write-off. Build up layers and it hardens up after sprayed with water. Works for me. Trees I'm lost on.

Cheers

NIFTY! I like it. I guess that goes under the "found" items category.

Good looking Panther Greg. Like how you've finished it and placed it on the display base. Nice zimmerit, how did you do it? Was it part of the kit, or a homemade/aftermarket kit?

Thanks for sharing!!!
Cheers -
Tim

Nice panther Greg.I didnīt realise it was 1/48 scale iniatially either.
One thing that is apparent to me, is that the weathering is not consistent. The tools are all weathered, mud on the wheels and oil stains on the back deck ... all well done ... but the rest of the tank is too clean. A dark wash to give depth would be a good start, and then see what needs toucjing up to tie in the rest of the weathering.
There will always be the discussion about whether to weather or not ... but whatever choice is made ... it should be consistent throughout the vehicle IMO.

Thanks Lyndon and Frank.

Weathering the PE zimmerit perplexed me as others advised not to use a darker wash on the zim because the darker color wouldn't match the non-zim areas. So, I tried to just filter and light dust those areas but it does look too clean still. Anyone know how to battle-damage PE zim? for future reference?

Thanks again, Greg
