Hi, I have a plastic kit windshield that needs some large bullet holes punched through it. Would drilling be best or whacking it with a small chisel? How do you get the crack look protruding from it?
Any guidance/experience greatly appreciated

Hey Greg,
The way I've seen it done is two ways, High speed drill, or old school, Xacto tip. Both work. The spider effect on the windscreen is done with the Xacto. Find an extra piece and try both.

I would use the drill to get the center. Then for the spider I would use the back edge of a hobby blade or a scribing tool. I wouldn't sue a cutting tool. Remember to be ragged, don't make the etches too straight.

The method I use is to use a small drill in a pin-vice; drill almost through the screen and then at the very end give the vice a tap to finish the job. This gives the round hole for the penetration and the cracks appear naturally in the plastic.
