Excellent work Yvan. The weathering is great I like the wet mud and the mud drying out on the rear panel.

For the wet running gear, it's a base coat of gloss varnish with russian earth pigments over the base mud, and then another coats of gloss varnish until having the expected wet effet
indeed the base mud was made of sealing plaster + sand + raw umber pigments, and once dried this is a mixture that absorb a lot

Fuel spills and all other oil, grease, etc ... are done using Lifecolor Tensocrom weathering paints, plus gloss varnish if necessary

Here is a short preview of almost finished dio featuring my SU-152
figures are still missing, waiting them from the hobby shop ....

The action is somewhere in Kiev area, after Dniepr crossing in fall 1943
the SU-152 is from an unknown Heavy Self-propelled Artillery Rgt
( I posted some time ago on the allied forum, but nobody was able to help me with an unit id )
15 cm nebelwerfer 41 and sd.anh.33 belong to schweres Werfer Rgt 1

these are the original figures that finished in the trash can after a problem with ( probably too old ) black primer
they're going to be replaced by exactly the same

I really like the overall weathering, and even though it's a small detail, the wooden handle on the shovel looks like real wood.

I'm really glad you added a base scene to this one. I thought it looked as good with the dark mud and green grass as it does now. Very nice work on this one. I love these types of fierce ugly Russian machines

Looking forward to the finished figures

I agree with Greg - the model is very nice on its own, but the dio base really sets it off beautifully.

My only quibble would be those wheel tracks in the mud (from the Nebelwerfer, presumably): They seem to start and end quite suddenly and cleanly, with the Nebelwerfer itself a few scale metres further over and offset to them.

But that aside, very nice work, and thanks for sharing.

The idea is that an Opel Maultier or Sdkf 11 reversed to unload the rocket ammo, and then left using the same way
For the nebelwerfer itself, it was presumed to be unloaded at the end of the dirt track, supposingly the day before for ex., then moved to it's firing position after it rained
Don't know if the scenario is concistent ?!
