Hi all,
here I am with my new build, also part of my SL&L campaign German WWII train. I am gonna build highly detailed model with ful interior, using any suitable PE found, resin castings made by my own or other parts I will scratch build. This should be exact copy of the BR 86 locomotive, which is 86 283 from 1925 year, still functional and exhibited in DDM Museum in Germany. That allows me to get as many reference pictures as needed.
The base for my build is CMK kit, but many parts are to be changed or added, according to the original mentioned above. This is gonna be most accurate work I have ever done (in my 16 months modelling life )

A look into the box:

I will start with cleaning now, some update should be here soon. More details at my website, also some reference pictures.

BR86

Full walkaround will be available when Trumpeterīs BR86 comes out.

Thanks for looking, any comments are welcome.

I'm also looking forward to this Libor. I like the look of this Loco better than the BR52

A small black beauty! Good luck with this kit.
Also Trumpeter has some plans for this "loco".

Thank you for kind words, guys,
no progress made so far, I did some work at Trumpeterīs gondola and making a master for Kunze-Knorr brake for this and other cars, which I want to cast in resin:
Trumpeter gondola
I will scratch build detailed brake and air system for this car, and the moulds will be used for any other wagon in the future. Once finished, Iīll be back on my BR 86 and diorama. Yeah, Trumpeterīs BR 86 is coming out next year, I am sure that will be once again exact copy of CMK kit, but in styrene. The same story like with BR 52, they even had copied all the mistakes, what CMK had done on their kit released earlier Thanks for looking.
Cheers

Hi Libor, Trumpeterīs BR-86 will probably come out in 2 months.
(itīs in the newest addition to their product updates)

Also I think, that itīs a good solution for all of us with their plans.
Resine kits are very expensive, not easy to build and rare on the market! So plastic is the easiest and cheapest way, to build something like this.

Hi, Soeren,
looks that really could be out before the end of the year. I am so busy last time, so I even did not check their news for a few months
I agree that resin kits are mostly too expensive, and I was looking for my locomotives very hard to get them, but that is because these kits were produced good few years ago. By the way, I would not expect the Trumpeterīs BR 86 cheap at all Their gondola stays far behind Dragonīs one, just because they left out everything underneath, kit is simplified as far as that could be (main frame, air tank, brake cylinder, all missing, one brake power switch at wrong position, just to avoid making another mould etc), but the price is 50% higher. In that case I would better pay 10 more euro to get quality resin gondola kit with all the parts and without mistakes. And I have to say, that Trumpeter is one of my favorites, I really like their kits, but this one makes me somehow disappointed. I hope they are gonna do a better job with their BR 86
Cheers

I tried the CMK BR52 years before Trumpeter. I called it quits on that one From what I have seen of their new gondola it pretty much looks like a rebox of Ironside. I have the Ironside kit but not the TRumpeter so I can not be sure.

Thank you, Mark and Trutek,
for kind words.
To Mark, that is really nice selection of cars, you have got there. I do not think, that Trumpeterīs gondola would be rebox. I do not have any Ironside kit, and I think they are not available any more. I got stuck, as my compressor broke and the new one is not here yet
Cheers

Hi, Stjepan,
what about Kitmaster? They do small scale, but large selection of locos and some cars as well, I think. I saw some features around here, at Armorama, the other day.
