Zvezda is going to produce T-90 with all new tooling (not modification of ex-dragon T-72 kit). But thy don't say release date.

Excellent build, Melnikov. Not very often opne sees these modern Russian tanks. The conversion really changes the look of the tank and it seems very little is left of the original vehicle.

Good news on the styrene version of the T-90 from Zvezda. I want on of those for my stash.

It really is a lovely model. It would be nice if Zvezda came out with a state of the art kit but I'm not holding my breath waiting for it's release. Which is bizarre that we have a K1A1 out and Type 98's on the way but no new tool T-90 or T-80.

Excellent work, Anton! From looking at Tsuyoshi's similar T-90 build in 'Armour Modelling' I know this was not as simple as you make it look. I also like your painting and would like to know what are "AKAN" colours? Like other responders, I too have a Miniarm (T-72B) upgrade parts to modernize Tamiya's kit; so your post serves as motivation and reference. Thanks for sharing! - James

A Great looking T-90!

I have the same Miniarm T-90 conversion sets for the Tamiya T-72 kit and was wondering if there were any difficult build issues using the resin sets? Any feedback / thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello Gary, im building a T72B conversion an my front hull was approximately 1mm shorter in every direction. And I have a fit issue where the front meets the lower hull. On the other hand the resin is of good quality an easy to work with.

Great model, Anton, I started hunting down the parts for my t-90. Lately some of their products seem to be out of stock everywhere. Are they still in business?

Thanks for the advice about the T-72B size issues. By chance I also have the Miniarm T-72B conversion set so I will make a note of the issues you found.

Miniarm seems to be hard to track down (here in the UK I can find only one stockist -"AFV Magazine"). What I do know however is if you have any missing or damaged parts their aftersales service (Miniarm) is dreadful.

I am STILL waiting for 2 missing parts from their 1/35 T-64B turret set that I bought in JANUARY this year. Maybe that's why some dealers won't stock the range? It is also expensive here in the UK with a turret / hull / wheels & tracks set costing the best part of £100.00 for a full conversion PLUS the purchase cost of the kit itself.

About Miniartm business: firm moved to St.Petersburg, Russia so they needed some time to continue production. Now everything is ok.

T-72B has rather difficult issue with turret, you need to scratch a lot of mountings on turret.
I had no problems with front hull, it fit good

Thank You for the good news, Anton. The other problem with my T72 B turret was that all the supporting ribs for the wire on the front part were broken. Maybe Miniarm could think about better packaging, these details are rather delicate and difficult to repair. Other than this the details are really amazing. Im going to start building a T90 next week.

Arpad, a had the same problem. so I cut all of them and scrathed them from 0,3 mm styrene.
