So I weathered and finished my model, after the M1A2 disaster I realized I am not as experienced as I originally thought with armor. All feedback is appreciated!!

Hi Alex:

Nice work. I haven't built an armor kit since I was a kid, but they are easy to admire. I think your work is very good. One thought: on the green canvas carried on the side of the vehicle; it might be a little more interesting if the straps wrapping it were a little darker shade of the same green as the canvas. Remember that I am not the expert here, so take it with a grain of salt. I was just thinking it would give the wrapped piece a little definition. Someone with more experience can comment on this. Good job on the build; very interesting and great attention to detail.

Looks pretty good, but the muzzle is way overdone. I'd repaint that part. Otherwise it looks pretty good. "Q"

I can't believe I didn't think of this..then again I am just learning. I will do this as soon as the model of the month is over and update the pics. Thanks for the advice though!

I figured it was, but seeing as to how I didn't have any references of M60's that have fired the gun, it was hard to see how much stain to apply, Do you know, if any??

Alex, there wouldn't any staining on it. maybe some light chipping from the crew banging into it with the cleaning staff, holding onto it duing cleaning etc. But no soot. I'll see if I can dig up some pics for you. "Q"
ps. I did a Google image search and there are several pics out there that show the muzzle clearly. Take a look through those and it will give you an idea of what it sould liook like.

You know, I looked around, I can't find a single one in desert color that has confirmed combat kills, however, I am just going to go with your advice and repaint the the end, using the black as a pre-shade type thing. Thanks for the heads up!

Alex-- marvelous job, if you can duplicate that crazy pattern we tried on the tanks in the early to mid-70's (the one you show is certainly pictured in Germany, probably one of the ACR vehicles), please let us know how you do it. Great job on a true work horse tank...she was a warrior to be around.
thanks

If I do decide to take this on, I will deffinately be putting up some pictures, I think I am going to copy a pair of my Marine MARPATS and use cut outs for masking, thats probably the safer bet, but we shall see

beyond the comments by others, overall great job! not so much about the model, but watch your whitebalance on your camera. I noticed that your second set of pics tends to go to the pink/orange side....its the white balance messing with your sand. Happens to me ocassionaly. Ive found that making sure you have ample light, and keeping it on the "tungsten" setting with no flash tends to do the best, but its still tricky. I honestly still havent found the perfect balance of light ammount/ type of bulb/ setting yet...oranges and tans are the hardest...

looks good though!

thanks for the tip, I am not too experienced with photo's as I'de like to be, and it deffinately takes from the finished product, but again, thanks for the suggestions!
