Hi Guys!
I have to admit that this is the most crappy photo I ever took, but nevertheless I want to show you what I'm currently building. I gave the model a primer and removed some small inaccuracies like seam lines etc etc. It is now ready for some paint. Jacques kindly offered me a Modelpoint barrel so a big thanks goes to him as the kit offering is really bad.
Cheers

Hmm, looks like the Skif-kit with the extra-packed update-parts.
I also have an (original) MT-LB and made a simple "OOB"-build.
Did you planned to make a special camo, or a simple green only?
greetings...
Soeren

Hi Soeren!
The lower and upperhull are the only Skiff parts I used. The rest is self made and the turret comes from a Zvesda BTR-80A kit. I plan to make a very weathered vehicle, much as the MAZ I did. I gave the model a base coat this afternoon. Next step will be a coat of Tamiya hull red lighted with orange. Then some hairspray followed by a coat of lighter green. I hope this will work to make some representative rust areas.
Cheers!

Hey jurjen .
I am a really big fan of your Russian armour and I love your Maz in fact, you've tempted me to build the kit as a long term project!. I hope your carrying on with your SBS on how you painted and weathered it!.
Great work on the MT your scratch building skills are some what impressive.
I look foward to seeing some progress on this.

Hi Guys!
This is where the MT-LB is at the moment. The photo is a bit darker then the model is in real life. I still have difficulties with getting the photos right. (maybe a new camera should do the trick ) The vehicle itself is done for about 80 percent and now I need to focuss on the 30mm, (thanks Jacques! ) I only need to break the monotone green colour a bit. Maybe you guys have a cool idea? Let me please know!
Hope you like it sofar.

Really nice paint job on this one again Jurjen. The green is not monotone at all
But in my opinion, you overdid the weathering for this very version of the MT-LB. From what I've seen on various pictures, those "brand new" versions are quite well maintained and if I'm correct they all come in a three-color camo.

Hi Jurjen,
Awesome !
Can you please detail your way to the hairspray technique ? I would really like to be able to reach such a result, I got no idea how to ?
Congratulations that's very nice.
Cheers,
Richard

This is a really good looking model Jurjen. The paint finish and weathering is really awesome looking. However I have to agree with Olivier, if this is an in service vehicle then it looks a bit too weathered and beaten up. When I first saw the pics I thought it was based on an abandoned vehicle in Afghanistan or something. Dont get me wrong I love the finish, but it just doesnt seem right for a vehicle in service....

Hi Jurjen
Your work is nice and,it's only my opinion,it has something that doesn't fit.
If it's an abandoned apc (I think this cause it's very badly mantained in your mode)it has maybe too things on it...cannon and smoke dis. should be removed..maybe some damages or items lost or missed could be a good idea. Not sure but if it's abandoned you can put on it some items that aren't apc stowage (like I did for my 55 abandoned that you can see in the gallery)...things like drums posters wood steel plates or part of other apc ot tanks.
If this apc is operative...I agree with Oliver that is a great modeller and probably you need to fix it with a new paintjob.
Please it's not a negative critic.Probably I am wrong, this is only my opinion and I don't want to hurt you with negative sentences.Let me know what do you think.
regards
Ciro Riccio

Ahh, this looks really nice!
The vehicle stands to long in the rain and dried in the sun. Not for "in use"-scenes.
Thats an interesting contrast between color/paint and the rusty parts.
greetings...

Great job J.!!
Funny how everyone is commenting on the 'über-weathering'. It looks o.k. in my book.
You might have mentioned that the look was deliberate and experimental even though you know such hightech MT-LB version would be better maintained. You sneaky little b.stard
But I guess we know now how the new Trumpeter T-62 you will build is gonna look. Am I right?
Hope you take it, and the MAZ!!!!, with you to Scale World so we can discuss it.
It would be nice if we could talk.
Your biggest fan ever,
Marcel

Hi Guys!
Thanks for your comments and thoughts. They mean a lot to me!
@Olivier: You're absolutely right about the current use of this vehicle and the weathering is in that case overdone. My aim was to make a very worn and scrapyard look-alike vehicle. Maybe it is situated in 2038.
@Martyn: Thanks!
@Richard: You should check out this link: http://www.migproductionsforums.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3293 Very useful. Make sure you apply enough hairspray and then apply a thin layer of paint. Otherwise you can't reach the hairspray layer with water.
@Rob: You're right about the weathering. I hope not to many modelers will notice this
@Ciro: Thanks for your thoughts! Comments with critical thinking and feedback are the most useful ones. I will not remove the 30 mm though as Jacques kindly offered me a Modelpoint barrel. (a collectors item!) hihi.
@Soeren: Thanks!
Cheers!

Marcel!
How are you doing? I will definately bring both to Scaleworld. Long time ago that we met!
I really can't wait to the T-62, I have everything set. Friuls done, trakz wheel done, Modelpoint ammo, Friul dushka... hihi. This vehicle was indeed an experiment with hairspray and rust, a t-62 would be more appropiate I guess.
We'll meet sunday!

I can assure you reached your goal ! I can't wait to see the T-62 to which you'll give this treatment !
Thanks for the link too, it should prove useful.
