Gents,

Can anyone tell me if the Austin Tilley utility truck was ever used by the Canadian Army or RCAF during WWII?

TIA

Hi Brad,

I can't recall having seen any specific mention of it being used by Canadian Units. I know the Polish had them. That said they were used in every theatre of war, so it's quite possible especially by RCAF. Maple Leaf Forum might be a good place to ask. They were the fore-runner of the jeep so I'd say it's possible.

You probably already have this but just in case:

Edit: Hi Brad, I had a quick look through Eurpoe WW2 and Blue Print for Victory by W Gregg and I don't see any listed there as being used by the Canadian Military. So it may be a non runner for the Canadians but ML is worth checking on anyway as there is alwasy the exception to the rule.

Hi Brad,

I asked Michael Schackelton (of the Tilly Reegister) over on ML. His thoughts are like mine.

Here' the link to the thread.
