Haven't seen many Coelians round these parts, so I thought I'd share mine, just completed this past week. It's the Dragon kit from the "Imperial Series".
I drilled out the flak gun barrels, added PE engine grilles and replaced the kit-supplied bow machine gun with an aluminium one from JB Model. Other than that, it's OOB. I will though add a commander figure in the open turret hatch in due course.

Cool tank, what colours did you use? I like the metal sheen it has.
Great Job.

Great paintjob!!! I have one in my stash too. I'm planning on getting the JB Model flak barrels. Where did you get the decals?

Looks great. I always wondered if DML should've put that on the A chassis. Isn't that what all the prototype photos are of?
I like the green you have chosen, really looks like late 1945 too! I have the Accurate Armor turret and need to get started on my "What If" campaign.

Thanks for the input guys.
@ Phil & Jeff - The green is good old Tamiya XF-58 Olive Green, lightened to varying degrees with XF-59 Desert Yellow and a hint of XF-15 Flat Flesh.
After the washing stage, I applied some very light drybrushing with Light Ochre oil paint to various parts of the hull and turret for a bit of extra colour contrast, after which I did a very gentle misting of thinned XF-59 (slightly heavier round the wheels & lower hull) to tie everything together, and finally another misting of XF-52 Flat Earth around the lower hull and wheels.
@ Phil - The metal sheen effect comes from drybrushing (and I mean drybrushing) with Reaper Master Series "Shadowed Steel" acrylic.
@ John - I didn't know that JB did a set of flak barrels until after I'd assembled the turret. Pity that, as they look pretty good and I'd have used them myself on this build. Oh well - next time maybe! The decals were just some that I had floating around in the spares box, and I can't recal which kits they came from originally - sorry.

At the time DML did not do any A hull Panthers and I think were trying to do Heer'46 what-ifs not historicaly accurate prototypes.0

Way back when there was some talk about Dk Green Panthers with white air-Id bands, but nothing historically documented and I have not heard anyone take up the banner lately.
That said, I like the green too, and immediately imagined one with a scuffed white ID band tunning parallel to the centerline.
Nice looking Panther. Might even get me to bring mine along on vacation to fiddle around with.

@ DJ - the shovel handle is Vallejo acrylic "Weathered Wood" from one of their 'Panzer Aces' sets, given a burnt umber oil wash followed by a bit of light drybrushing.
@ Keith - Sure, no problem. If I can dig out a suitable plain background, I'd be happy to give it a go. I assume there's no urgent rush though, so I'll try and finish the Commander first. Thanks for asking.

Very nice Steve. Good all-round finish, making the most of this older kit. Looks very cool actually!

Thanks for the comments Frank.
I've always liked the look of the Coelian as well. As you say, a 'cool' machine - certainly one of the 'coolest' Paper Panzers in my view. Which is why I find it surprising that you don't see very many.
