Ok I picked up the Kirin T-90 kit, ive read that its pretty crap but it wasnt very pricey and the castings are rather nice. It is to my understanding that this conversion actually better represents a T-72BM than a T-90, so my questions are what is specifically wrong with Kirins conversion If i wished to build a model that represented a BM to a reasonable standard. I want something that looks relatively accurate and seen as I have this kit figured I might as well go ahead and use it and try to improve what I can.
Any help appreciated.

Well, I have built this conversion. It looked ok in 1998 when I built it, but then all those wonderfull photos of the real vehicle flooded the internet and a few years ago I sold it off, not able to "handle" it any longer.
It is, indeed, a T-72BM,and everything is mis-sized, mostly to the smaller side. The turret has some issues, the K-5 ERA is too small, it is meant to be used on the DML T-72 kits, etc...
It will build into a cool looking tank, but it is based on DML's older kits that have seen better days. I say use it to have fun building, and then move onto something accurate like Miniarm's conversion, which is very accurate, but it is also quite a bit more work.
