Hi guys, could some one tell me the floor & engine compartment colour for the T34/85 as I've just got hold of the hobbyboss kit with full interior,
for the sidewalls & turret I'm going to use Polly-s dirty white & for the engine Alclad steel with the cylinder heads semi gloss black.
Thanks Andy.

I don't have a lot of information on GPW T-34-85's but it's a safe assumption that they weren't much different than the -76. The few photos I do have seem to confirm this.
That being the case the fighting compartment walls and turret interior would be white (not off-white), the FC floor and driver's controls dark grey/black, main gun ammunition boxes black/dark grey or possibly 4BO green. Compressed air bottles and lines medium blue, fuel lines yellow.
The main gun would be 4BO and the controls black or green.
The engine/transmission compartments are another question. There is evidence that for a period of time, perhaps from specific factories, these were left in red-brown primer (some of us are still some debating this) but earlier in the war the standard practice was to paint the engine compartment the same 4BO "protective green" as the exterior of the tank.
Fuel tanks would have been red (not yellow, which appears to be a post war Czech/Polish practice) and the oil cells may have been black, at least in some cases. Radiators and batteries also appear to be black though the radiators may have been unpainted in some cases (maybe even "normally"?).
The V2 engine was left unpainted aluminum with some attached items being black or protective green, as appears to be the case with the transmission.
The engine valve covers were pressed steel and may have had a protective coating but in most photos I have do not seem to have been painted with a opaque color. A thin, translucent looking red brown appears on some post war engines.
Blue compressed air lines and yellow fuel lines, same as in the fighting compartment although in a couple of photos I have the air/fuel/oil/coolant lines appear to be unpainted.
I can't vouch for the 100% absolute accuracy of these statement but they are based on numerous photos of wartime tanks (contemporary B/W photos, and several modern color photos of recovered T-34's) and known Soviet painting practices. But at this point I believe them to be at very least reasonably accurate.
