Hi,

Is the CHINESE JSU-152 HOWITZER (dragon item 6803) ever used in WWII by Russians. Is there any need to back date to Russian WWII- if so ,which parts?

Thanks

It is a Russian SPG. No need to backdate it - there is an issue with the hull height being too shallow (the tracks ALMOSt touch the fenders). The ISU 152 and 122/122S was used extensively by the Russians in WW2 and postwar.

Hey Kiong,
Yeah, you can use it as a WW II Soviet SPG.
To correct the shallowness of the lower hull, just add some thin styrene plastic strip to the edges of the lower hull before you glue down the upper hull.
That should correct the gap between the tracks and fenders.
Cheers

1. There is a little debate as to the hull heigh issue from no other than Steve Zaloga. Here is his review of the orange boxed JS-2 kit on ML stating so. We may have to lok more carefully at this problem to see if it really is one.

2. The "Chinese" version that DML released is nothing more than the WWII ISU-152 with a commander's AAMG. That is the only difference and yes, they used the AAMG in WWII.
