Just wanted to say up front, this is not a BLOG because I am pushing this build along without too many pictures.

Talk of the T-64 in another thread has pushed me to put up some photos early of a build I am doing right now. Here is the SP Designs kit 224 T-64U m99 build on the T-64A chassis with Master Club clickable resin tracks.

Wow, it looks like Sergej's made huge improvements in his casting process !!
There is not that much of the Skif kit remaining under all this resin bits

Thanks for sharing Jacques

I like it Jacques !

Very nice The SP stuff you have is great !!

I'm interested to see what color base coat / mix you use and what else you do to finish this beast.

You've used the Skif kit lower hull, suspension and wheels set haven't you ?

I'll do the Skif T-64B with the Minarm Turret, and Masterclub tracks later in the year. I think I'll use the Accurate Armor upgrade as well !

I'll be following this build of yours closely !

Cheers

Paul

Here is a update: PAINT!

and I am trying to finish with it my older build of the T-80U m91 that is a frankenstein of SP Designs parts from three different generations of castings, with some of my own scratchbuilding:

This is just the base coat and a few shadings/fadings. Some drybrushing, detail painting, adding the tracks and sideskirts, and then on to the 3 tone cammo!

I love the Master Club tracks, they are wonderfull. I have a set of the Miniarm ones, but I cannot locate them at the moment. They had more flash and IIRC they were harder to work with.

The kits, SP Designs Conversion, SKIF's T-64, and Master Club's tracks can all be found seperately from several sources, or all in one at Historica Books, which I recomend. The Eduard PE can also be found in several places if needed, but I think Historica dropped them.

The camo looks spot on.

Wow. The quality of the SP Designs castings is so much improved. I bought the T-64U conversion 2 years before the upper hull was included.

The resin parts looks very good! The cast quality seems to be on a new level!

I love the T-64U!!!!!!!! It looks fantastic!

I hope the upper hull fort he T-64A and the T-72 turret would be of the same quality.
Jacques do you know when they would be availble?

I coated with future, and added a couple of oil washes to add some depth, let dry overnight and then flatcoated with testors flat from a "rattlecan". All to bring to the Nordic Con contest. They are not finished, but were made "good enough". The pictures do not show a lot of the details that popped out with the washes, but this is what I have for now:

First, the T-64U m99

and the T-80U m91

and a final comparison of the T-80U m91 and the old DML T-80 SMT m1989 (aka the T-80UD). I know I keep beating this dead horse, but the pictures should speak for themselves as to how poor the DML kit eventually was shown to be. They did their best with what they had, but they need to step up and redo their work.

As I add more proper detail at my leisure ( ! ) I will post.
