Post-War AFVs have never really been noted for their eye-catching color schemes. This new decal sheet from Empire City Decals may just disabuse you of that notion. News of this interesting new release can be seen:

The problem with sheets like this is that rather than buying the decals to use on a kit, once you've got 'em in your eager mits there's a real danger of then feeling the need to buy more kits to use with the decals.
I bought Brian's other armour sheet ("Stalin's Diplomat" T-34s) specifically for the Somali decals on it, but it now seems a shame to just leave the rest of them unused on the backing sheet, LOL!
It'll be the same story I fear with this new sheet, once it drops through my mailbox ......
Good to see a neglected post-war niche being filled with these sets. Hopefully there'll be more to follow.

Anyone know if these are ALPS printed decals or high quality silk screen decals? The news failed to mention this....

The are professionally screen-printed by AviPrint in the Czech Republic...I no longer use any ALPS printing in my decals.
Thanks,

In regards to the "Quang Trung 729" tank, as I'd pointed out in another thread, this was NOT marked by the NVA in such a manner, but rather by ARVN after capture to commemorate a contemporaneous ARVN military operation. This was explained to me by an ARVN veteran and he was absolutely emphatic about this point.
From: http://www.bietdongquan.com/article1/armyranger.htm
On the 11th, Gen. Hoang Xuan Lam focused on a counterattack westward. The operation named "Quang Trung 729", consisted of three battalions of the 147th Marines, three Ranger groups and two Cavalry regiments. Quang Trung 729 was on schedule with RVN troops moving forward cautiously. Only the 5th Ranger group encountered with the enemy, they overran a NVA battalion size and taken light casualty. Then the RVN became bogged down as the fighting intensified. On the 18th, all RVN units including Marines and Rangers reported contacts with enemy forces. The 5th Ranger group with tanks of the 20th Cavalry support was confronted by one regiment of the NVA and held in place. The 20th lost several tanks by RPG guns B-40s, B-41s and Sagger portable missiles. The 1st Ranger group and the 3rd Marines battalion also reported enemy tanks moving from the west.
