Hey all ... I've just ordered one of these, and will be posting a review once it lands at my place in Sydney, Australia.
Considering that ASLAV configuration is indicative of Iraq or Afghanistan, I reckon the kangaroo is pretty much superflous, but it could be useful in an Aussie Abrams diorama.
Looking from afar, the update provides the larger stowage box, and corrected hatches, engine deck and mesh, but the Platt mount is still crappy, and the 25mm gun will still need an update.
I'll do a test fit and report in as soon as it arrives, in the mean time, here's the base Trumpeter ASLAV hull - a commendable effort, but disappointing on many levels.

Well, the Legend ASLAV udate arrived and I'm not sure what I think of it yet.
I just came from a bout of surgery (nothing serious), but I'll be spending the next week convalescing, so I'll probably be doing a bit of tinkering.
Straight up, although the kangaroo's a novelty, it won't be much use for a vehicle in this configuration, because they were in Iraq, and I didn't see many roos hopping about over there!
Looking at the pix, I'm not sure that Legend got the turret bar arour right, but it will take me a whille to get to that stage and I'll do a bit of research in the mean time.
Legend supply a new engine deck, which is the same length as the old one overall, but the front louvres are a bit bigger. When you fit the deck, take the "meat" off the resin on the starboard side - ie, the opposite side to the driver's hatch.
The old hatch dremeled out and the replacement ready to be fitted:
The new deck set in place, although a bit of tidying is needed ... note how the glacis engine hatch didn't line up with the armour fillet forward of the front louvre. If I was doing another one I'd probably glue the glacis hatch in first and the leave the kit hull louvre in place so I was deailing with fitting right angles:
This isn't going to be a definitive ASLAV build, I just one that looked like the vehicles I saw when I was in Iraq in 2005. Tomorrow I'll tidy up the engine deck joins and do some masking for non slip surfaces while pondering if I should tone down the weld seams in the hull.
