Okay, after all the discussion about the BMP-1/2 lately I have some questions myself on one of the more "heavy" conversions:
Can anybody give me some information on the BMP-based recovery vehicles (pics would be appreciated as usual)? As far as I know, there was a recovery version of the BMP-1 coming from russia and another one of the BMP-2 coming from Czech Republic. Where are the differences? Is there another version of the BMP-2 Recovery vehicle coming from Russia?
And now the final one: which version is displayed by the SP-Design conversion set of the BMP-1?
Thanks for your help!

Model of SP design is bringing in VPV 90 used by armies of the CR and Slovakia as arv
DTP-90 is rather drivable work-room , it means that is used for repair bvp OT-90 isn´t bvp... but it isapc ..... it is a hull of bvp with turret from ot-64 skot. There is 14,5 mm kpvt in the turret so called Havel´s Tiger.

My knowledge of the BREM-4 is sparse, but my understanding is that the BREM-4 is a Russian or Ukrainian design that metriculated through the Warsaw Pact armies, and was meant as a light recovery and maintenance vehicle.
The DTP-90M was a indigenous Czech design that served most of the same purpose as the BREM-4 but had improvements.
Can anyone clarify?

I found this one in a german book ("Fahrzeugklassiker der NVA"):
The question is: is that the BREM-4 (it looks like it, but would be nice to hear your opinion)? Or better: does the SP-Conversion display the above shown vehicle?

Yes, that appears to be a BREM-4. And yes, you should be able to build one from the SP Designs kit.

What about the BMP-1 based RM-G ?
From Wikipedia : "It is a BMP-1 converted into a repair vehicle produced by the Rubtsovsk Engineering Works from 1995. It is used for technical reconnaissance as well as for routine repairs and the recovery of tanks and IFVs. The RM-G is fitted with a 1 tonne load platform, a superstructure at the rear of the hull and a 3 tonne KU-3 crane at the front of the hull. The superstructure has a small IR searchlight and six 81 mm 902V "Tucha" smoke grenade launchers (three on each side). It is armed with one 7.62 mm PKT machine gun."

BREM -4 alias VPV (Vyprošťovací Pásové Vozidlo) is the Czech produkt, it was been constructed between years 1976 až 1983. VPV means Recovery Tracked Vehicle in English. And it was been converted from BMP -1 . It is used in Czech and Slovak army, in SSSR (where it was named BREM -4). In German army (NDR) there were 8 pieces putting only to the test.

The ARV produced in SSSR was converted from BMP-1 it was named BREM -2 : http://armor.kiev.ua/Tanks/Modern/brem2/
I suggest using BMP – 1 kit for building BREM – 4 (VPV). The main reasons are: driving - wheel, fender, tracks. Aut BMP – 1 haven’t shocker on the second pair of wheels, so it is necessary to scratchbuild it. The shocker was typical for the chassis BMP -2.
DTP – 90 M and BREM – 4 (VPV) are associating in their function. Both types are using in Czech and Slovak army. BREM – 4 has a recovary winch, DTP – 90M haven‘ t any!
DTP – 90 M has very special equipment for maintenance and repairing anothers BMP vehicles.
DTP – 90 M is built on BMP – 2 hull, how can you see on the fenders.
The forerunner of DTP – 90 M was DTP – 90 http://forum.valka.cz/viewtopic.php/title/CZK-DTP-90-dilna-technicke-pomoci/t/15903#ixzz0TXCd6R0i

Thank you Petr. And thanks for the links...more info that I have not seen, especially the line drawings.
So the BREM-4 is Czech produced and the BREM-2 is an indigenous Russian build. Good to know.
