I want to keep my hope alive but it's starting to seem that it will remain a line drawing in their catalog and nothing more. Has anyone heard anything about the kit?

They are already showing the box art and it is in the 'coming soon' section of their website.
I hope it is new tooling and can be built as the new turret version.

If you want to make a good T-90 I would just use Miniarm's excellent upgrade kit.
I recently recieved one and it really is fantastic quality. It's a little on the pricey side, but to be honest not that bad at all, £30 for a completely resin turret, with tons of extra bits and details, and a turned metal barrell. I've seen much more expensive aftermarket kits in the past.
For my next built I will be using the Miniarm sets to turn a Tamiya T72 into a modern T-90 (2004 m).
Miniarm also give you some different pattern T-90's to choose from.
