Hi Guys

I wonder if anyone knows of any good Photo etch sets for a T-90 or perhaps for a T-72 that could be adapted/used for a T-90?

I have already a few resin upgrade packs to go with my Tamiya T-72, but it would be nice to include some PE elements if there are any kits out there.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great, I already have a turned barrel as part of my miniarm set, but don't have anything for the smaller more subtle details.

Thanks for the tip Raul,

I thought Eduard might do one. I must admit though I am having trouble finding one, most places are out of stock of that set and to order direct from Eduard you have to spend over $20, I only want that one set though which is $12!

Does anyone know of any good eduard stockists or suppliers in the UK?

Theres also the Verlinden resin and p/e update set and the CNK T72A1 set. I think Airwaves also makes a T72 set. I have the Verlinden set and the CMK one too and even though they have resin pcs I didn't pay too much for them and have various grills, fuel can racks, and turret pcs in p/e. For what its worth.

I would love to see Zvseda to their T90 so we could have a good base kit. Who knows with the release of the Tank crew set recently maybe its just around the corner?????

Hi Chris

Thanks for those tips too. I've been looking at some of those old verlinden sets recently and they seem to have some cool little bits and pieces, even if I wouldn't use the old kit, seems to be some stuff there to salvage.

About Zvseda, I was thinking the same thing. I came across the reference photo that they based that tank crew from by accident the other day. They really were quite faithful to the original image! For a minute I thought I was looking at the box art!

Jon,

I am using the Eduard PE set on an actual T-72 and I have to say that 95% of it is going in the spares box. Most of the details are items to fix parts that, if you have the Miniarn T-90 bits, are already taken care of. To me it has been good for some buckles and that is about it. If you are having a hard time finding it I would carry on without it. Other's may disagree.

Thanks for the tips John.

Interesting to know.

I was mostly considering the Eduard set for the etched grilles for the engine to be honest. I think Tamiya included a PE option for the grilles? But I wasn't sure what the quality was like (my Tamiya kit is a birthday present from my wife so I've been banned from opening it to check myself!) would you say the Tamiya parts are of a sufficent quality?

Does anyone have experience with CMK's T-72 exterior kit? That appears to have some PE parts as well as resin upgrades and stowage etc. Looks quite cool, seems to have a lot of parts for the rear mounted fuel drums at well.

Hi

The Czech master kit is of good quality but its make to do a Czech tank or polish tank version parts are not suitable for russian or T-90 version the fuel barrels are different and the resin version came to be a "used version" so i dont recomend it for a T-90 but I recommned it if you want to do a warsaw pact item or a syrian/iraqui version
