Hello:
Looking at the new Tamiya JSU-152 the least that I can say is WOW, WHAT A GREAT KIT!!!!!!
But... I have a problem.
I already have the Dragon JSU. I know that is not as "accurate" or 2as good" as the Tamiya, but I like it and don't want to throw it to the garbage only because is a new one out there.
Because of that, I'm planning to buy the Tamiya kit and use it to make a JSU-122. As far as I know, the only difference between the two is the barrel. Is that correct? or there is another features to add in the Tamiya Kit to do the conversion?
Another question is:
Is there any aftermarket barrels for the JSU-122? I can't remind see one.
Hope someone can give some advise.
Best regards.

According to a few sources, the JSU-122 only came about due to a shortage of ML-20S 152mm guns for the JSU-152. There was plenty of 122mm A-19's and 122mm ammunition and these guns used the same carraige.

Hey Dan-T,
You may want to go at it a different way.
Build the Tamiya kit as a ISU-152 and pick up the DML/CyberHobby Orange Box kit for the ISU-152.
The OB kit is a 3 in 1 kit with cannon parts for an ISU-152 as well as the ISU-122 and ISU-122S
Orange Box ISU-152
The OB kit has had some improvements made, a newly tooled lower hull and magic track links, something you can modify on your original kit.
Cheers
