Hello fellow modellers
i am currently building an Italeri LCT 1/35 scale and am wondering if anyone has done anything similar that i could look at photos of to get some sort of guide to help me with colour schemes and any alterations you may have made to the model.
cheers

Hi Dez,
These might help, I assume you mean the Italeri LCM 3?
https://armorama.kitmaker.net//features/1280&page=1
https://armorama.kitmaker.net//features/952
https://armorama.kitmaker.net//features/1319
You should also have a read here:
http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/USN/ref/SurfSkill/index.html
Both the LCM 3 and LCA have moved on a bit since I built the original boats
Hope the links help.
Are you building a USN or RN craft?
Cheers
Al

Hi Alan
your models are fantastic and will help me greatly, especially the rusting and wear and tear marks, i am doing the LCM 3, it will be USN as used in d day invasion, the kit comes with 29th infantry div figures, my only query is ive painted it mostly using a slightly darker grey than what ive seen in yours and other similar models, but i guess this might not be too bad.
thanks for the help, ill post some photos shortly !

Hi Tony,
The Trumpeter LCM 3 had the correct fittings for a British LCM 3 ie no guns needed and the addition of a ladder and deck fittings..
I am not sure if the Revelle is a rebox of the Trumpeter kit, I have a feelng it is. Check the box markings to see if it gives the RN option.
The trumpeter kit is larger than the Italeri one, but there were differences in the boats depending on who made them. (deeper well)
The Italeri kit doesn't come with the ladded and deck fittings, I had 2 trumpeter kits so I was able to nick the fitting off one for the other.
This is the Italeri kit with the nicked fittings:
I prefered the Italeri kit as a build but if the Revelle kit has both RN and USN options I'd go for that.

Hi Dez,
I should have some colour pictures of USN boats, as soon as I can track them down I'll post a few up. Just don't add a tank, the weather was much too rough on D Day. Small vehicles should be OK.
Cheers
