Hi, Everyone,

I'm possibly going to build a Sherman III from the Sherbrooke Fusiliers, RCAC, Normandy, 1944. Dragon has two kits on offer: DR6313, Sherman Mk. III; and DR6231, British Sherman Mk. III. Does anyone know if these kits differ greatly, and/or is one preferred over the other for Commonwealth units? Thanks in advance!

Both are fine for NWE M4A2's in Commonwealth service although I would recommend the one NOT marked Sicily as it has WE 210 tracks which are very uncommon outside of NA and Early Italy / Med campaigns.
The original Sherman III kit has more appropriate tracks and is a cast hood model whilst the Sicily one is a welded hood example. Both have crusader type turret stowage boxes which will need to be changed for the more common NWE type.
Check your ref pics for the correct hull type but I'm pretty sure both hull types served wit hte Canadians in NWE.
Cheers
Al

Hey Gary,
You could also use Dragon's Tarawa M4A2 kit# 6062 with the welded hoods.
Here's the Armorama review
Service Publications "The Sherman in Canadian Service" has a good photo of the Sherbrooke Fusiliers Sherman III's just prior to D-Day.
Cheers

Hi, John,

Thanks for the lead. Looks as if I have a few more options than I originally thought!
