Hi folks, going to be buying some paints soon and whipping up a couple of 1:72 models to improve my painting skills.
Curious - that classic Soviet Cold War green what acrylic would best match to it?

Nato Green (Tamiya) then fade it using a highlight mixed with some Dark Yellow (to your tastes).
Scaling the color for 1/72 probably means you should lighten the base coat slightly also with Dark Yellow (Scale effect).

I've used Vallejo Model Colour Russian Green myself.
I've also worked with Tamiya Field Grey, Tamiya Dark Green, Tamiya J.A Grey...
Erm lots of colours I guess!

Sorry folks - I'm still new to many of the details in modelling - what I was talking about was many of the Red Square, May Day and Sovfoto AFV's seemed to be only ever one color...
Sounds like I'd be OK to start with those Vallejo colors until I get my feet under me.
Thanks for folks patience on the forum!
By the way LOVE THE PICTURES!!!! Wow...

Hi Andy
I think Vallejo Russian Green is a good bet if you want something like that.
