Has anyone heard any mention of these vehicles being modelled in 1/35th scale?
Wishfully hoping.
Cheers Doug.

No, nothing heard about any plans.
There are plans for the "towed Sprut", but not the vehicle.
Perhaps some kit-bashing can solve most problems.

greetings...

That video is crazy! When they launch the BMD out the back of the plane, is the crew in the vehicle at that time or do they meet up with the tank on the ground via convetional parachute?

Haha thats AWESOME! If thats the case you gotta have a lot of faith in that parachute! The way that BMD just flings out the back of the plane...

When I was living in New York five years ago, I was visiting a friend's apartment and I happened to have a BMD book in my hand. One of the doormen of the building looked at the book and said "ah, BMD tank.. many memories" in a thick Russian accent.

I chatted him up while waiting for my friend to come down; apparently he had been in a couple BMD airdrops back in the old country (USSR). He vividly remembered his squad's first time; and he said that the minute the vehicle was off the aircraft and started tumbling before the drogue parachutes stabilized; literally everyone started praying loudly. He was surprised that even a few of his friends who were supposedly atheists turned out to be very well versed in numerous Orthodox prayers!

PS: On a separate note, Miniarm has been promising a BMD-4 for a while now.

Great story, thanks for sharing.

It would be great if Miniarm do that BMD-4, having said that though they have been promising the BMP-2 with interior for ages and still no news...

Hi all!
Most likely, this person told by you the story of trials, the crew rarely parachuted in BMD ...
Typically, the crew took their seats in the BMD on the ground.

As told to me, The driver and Commander usually (if not always) drop with the vehicle, and the infantry drop nearby. The definition of nearby is flexable, which is supposedly why they drop the driver and commander with the BMD...they can un-attach the BMD and drive off the pallet in about 5 minutes to meet up with the squad if needed.

Not sure if that is currently the case, but it would not surprise me...
