The stuff is pretty amazing.
I will have some new colors available this weekend.

Thanks fellows!

Is that why your paints are so inexpensive? You dive and harvest the raw materials yourself?

You're on the right track, Scott, but here's the real story -

Brian is a modeler and wreck diver living in Florida. But the story doesn't start there.......
April 15th, 1945 - A U-Boat leaves Bremerhaven on a secret mission to Brazil, loaded with super secret Wunderwaffen technology for the Fourth Reich. Among the cargo was the formula and samples of a new technology acrylic paint that can be made for pennies from tree leaves, adheres to anything, can be applied by hand brush or airbrush without thinning, is ultra thin and flexible, can be any color, and is invisible to radar, sonar, and IR.
The U-Boat never arrived in Rio and was reported missing on April 30th, 1945. It has never been located.
Until Brian found it last September. Understandably, he is keeping the location, and the paint formula, a secret.
I wasn't supposed to tell anybody, but I couldn't help it.
Brian probably isn't going to let me try the rocket pack or the death ray now.....

Not de-rail the thread but ...

Dang it Matt you are giving my secrets away!!!!!! And you can definitely forget rocket pack and death ray.

Notice the ice under my right leg in the picture above? The speargun is for these that were guarding the U-Boat!

10 foot mako..just kidding..that gun wouldn't put a dent in that thing. We caught this fish moments before I splashed!

DOA paints really are amazing! I picked up the Allied set a few weeks back and had a chance to test them out this past weekend. I still consider myself to be a novice with an airbrush and have only applied solid base coats. I couldn't believe what I was able to do with DOA! The coverage is great and clean up is a breeze. I'm definitely hooked!

Hi Brian,
I'm new to using pigments (just bought and watched the MIG DVD), and was wondering what would be the equivalent products to use with your pigments.
Thinner - tap water (from the comments here)
Acrylic Resin - ???
Pigment Fixer - ???

I would have sent the question to your ebay store, but thought you could answer the question here and pre-empt many similar enquiries.

P.S. How long until the Red oxide is available?
Regards, Lucien

Hello Lucien,

Anything you can use with Mig's powders you can use with ours. I personally have never used water to apply them with but I have used mineral spirits. I am working on adding colors to this line and they will be available this week. (Been concentrating on the paints ..I have got to get some Luftwaffe colors finished!) I should have a filter set available to lighten colors in the next day or so as well. I have had several requests for this addition.

And yes. We do have a Red Oxide Primer out. Check out the web store. Along with a Middle Eastern set with two Israeli colors as well.

Thanks!

Brian, do you guys carry any 2oz bottles of the German DAK Afrika Gelbraun? It seems like the only colour you don't have a 2oz bottle listed for.

Just placed my first order, so I'm looking forward to checking out these paints when they arrive!

Brian, you may want to do a thorough once over of the store section. I noticed more colours not listed in the 2oz bottles, such as Olivgrun. There's also a lot of pages that feature the default store-software text placed there by the developers as an example of what you could write there. It could scare some new customers away if they feel the site isn't professional enough. Wouldn't want you guys to lose out on any business, as everyone says you've got a great product on your hands.

Hey Kevin!

Thanks for the suggestion. I will take a look at the online store today and tighten her up a bit. I started with only two ounce bottles of paint but most people were interested in the one ounce size. Seems as the stuff is catching on the two ounce size is definitely making a comeback! It is actually a better value.

So..... by the end of the day each color will be available in both one and two ounce sizes.

Thanks again for the order and feedback.

Hey Brian, has order #42 shipped out by chance? The order page still says "Processing", but I wasn't sure if you had it set up to show when stuff had shipped or not.

I shipped you order out Monday. Just have not had a chance to update it yet.

You should have it by the end of this week or first of next.

Thanks!

so what is new about this paint?
How does it compare to other paints in the market like Tamiya, Gunze... ?

Hi DOJO!

Our paint is different in a number of respects. First of all it can be sprayed directly out of the bottle and does not need thinning in most cases. Shoot it at a little higher psi ..20-25 psi.

It also comes in a full one or two ounce bottles..not ½ or 1/3 ounce. (30 or 60 ml) You get a good bit more for your dough.

We research and custom mix the colors..and listen to the input of the masses…quite a number of folks on this site helped us to develop our most popular colors. Track brown and the Israeli armor colors come to mind.

The review Tom did speaks for itself as to the quality of the paint. Check it out if you have not had a chance.

Hope this helps. Let Anthony or I know if you need any futher questions or concerns!

I got acrylic paint from different companies like Testor, Tamiya, Gunze and some other. So I want to understand what is deference in the paint it self.
sprayed directly out of the bottle and the size of the bottle is not that big of a deal to me as I'm more interested in the paint it self.

Did you read my review, which details things like coverage, performance, and ease of use?
What about "the paint itself" do you want to know?
It sprays, brush paints, and performs better, and is more forgiving, than Testors and Tamiya. I've never used Gunze.

One of the best things about this paint is that it has a very rich colour giving excellent coverage. I intend to thin the paint a little more however it is not needed, I just want it to go a little further.

Hey Darren,
I have the reducer out and ready as well as filtering colors!

Ok folks,

I have finally finished the filter set. This was the direct result from feedback that you people gave me when I asked if I needed to lighten or darken the colors. The best suggestion was, "Let us decide!" Ha! I love it.

So I have developed four filter colors. An ivory, pale olive, faded gray and a dark brown plus a two ounce bottle of reducer. You can spray mists of the filters at a distance, in successive layers, to lighten or darken the base coats. This is also great when employing the color modulation technique for adding contrast to the models.

The set is 20.00 + shipping and the filters and reducer can also be purchased individually.

Thanks for the feedback folks..more products on the way!
