These are some pictures of some helicopters I built about 12 or more years ago. The first one is a Huey Medavac.
These are some Huey gunships.

Unfortunately, all the links appear broken, I can't see anything.
That's because they are all over at the Aeroscale Rotary Wing Forum. Come over and check it out.

Looking pretty good. Watch that camera shake though. You should check out the link above to AeroScale's Rotary Wing Forum.

Thank you, I have a small tripod for my camera now. So hopefully the next sets come out better. I will check that site out. But I mainly like to build armor models and the helicopters are just every once in awhile.

They look good, I'd like to see some overall photos showing the whole helicopter. You say they were built 12 years ago, what kits are they from and I assume their 1/35th.

I'll try and take some full length photos this weekend. I think they I have all of the instruction sheets, two are a company called sinclair or something like that . One was a UH-1C Huey Cobra, the other a UH-1B Iroquois. One was an MRC Huey Heavy Hog. They could have been built more than 12 years ago. Not excatly sure when. I can't remember if I was at Fort Polk or stationed in Germany. Thanks for looking.

Probably Seminar, a company that split off from Academy. They did some UH1B and C Hueys in 1/35th, though Academy's versions were more refined in shape..

Here are some overall pictures of the helicopters. Acouple of them are Seminar, there is no real name on the instruction sheets.
I bought one of those portable photo booths, to try. I need to get some poster board to enclose the area some more. As always all comments and opinions welcome

Those pics are much better. Good job on them. You should really post these at the Aeroscale Rotary Wing Forum link above.

Medavac with machine guns? *ts ts ts*
Aren't military medic vehicles of all kind supposed to be unarmed so that they can pass field not being attacked themselves?

They are supposed to be able to pass w/out being shot at, but... tell that to the Viet Cong. They used the red crosses as targets. Most MedEvacs started carrying guns as self defense. Its the same principle as medics and doctors carrying weapons for self defense, not as offensive weapons.

According to the illustrated history of dust off (Bantam books ) when Major Kelly took over the dust off operations in V.N., he looked the other way and considered it as preventive medicine. By the Geneva convntion, they are suppossed to be unarmed. Personally, I belive if shot at, cut loose with everything you got.

Nice photos.
MRC (Academy?) 1/35 Heavy Hog? I think I found one started in a box the other day. I think the size of it overwhelmed my son so he gave up on it about 8 years ago. Any hints or tips on getting it finished?

Not just VC. The NVPA also targeted medics, both on the ground, and in the air.

Mark if you still have the instructions try to figure out where your son stopped and just finish it. They are pretty easy to build, the only problem comes in with the armament. Just have to be real careful to follow the instruction real close. These Helicopters were built without any type of photo-etched parts. Good luck with the build.

Tom, I'm sure you have since noticed this, but in your second batch of pictures, fifth one down, you put the roundel upside down...
But I tell you this only because I am VERY jealous of your modeling skills--I wish you could see my Italeri 1/72 Mi-24D Hind. Actually, I really don't. That build was rough! Keep up the outstanding work!

nice to see some of your earlier work, though they look like they held up to all the travels they have probably seen. those old copter kits weren't the best for fit if i remember seeing friends give them a shot back in the day. i was looking at Academy's new release of the 1/35 MH60 Blackhawk and seeing your nice models makes me reconsider why i didn't buy it. thanks for sharing these with us. cheers, mh.

Robby thank you I never noticed that it was put on upside down. Nothing I really can do now. Thank you guys both for taking the time to check out my work. Those helicopters have survived some traveling. Some were built when I was stationed in Germany, then Fort Polk, and then the move to Califorina. With one extra move here from one house to another. I have had to do some minor repairs here and there. I need to tackle some of my new helicopter models. Again thank you. Looking foward to seeing some of your work.

Tom, have you built Hobby Boss' 1/72 AH-64A Apache? I'm thinking about getting it, as I am long overdue for a good chopper! If so, how does it rate by you?

I don't build 1/72 scale. They are to small for me to try and do anything. I have been building 1/35scale most of my life. You can go on the avation side of the site and in rotary wings. Ask if anyone built the kit and ask for reviews. Hope this helps. Thanks again for looking at my pictures.
