Combined a Dragon and an Academy M51. Liked the Academy hull and the Dragon Turret with bits & pieces from both. Couple of bits P.E. and some brass strip. Couple more odds & ends to add then will prime & paint.
Hope you like it,
Doug

Added base colour and second camo colour. Third camo to be added and then clean up the demarcation lines. Coming along nicely.

Next step (after getting AB to work), third colour (black), tools and gloss coat. Next will be decaling. Still got to decide on tracks.

Looking really go so far. I loke the camo; something different from IDF sand. I recommend the AFV Club T84 tracks. I just happen to have a couple sets for sale/trade as well. Hint, hint.

Heavy, thanx for offer but I heard that the AFV Club tracks are a beast to work with. Will probably go with Dragon for now.

Yup, my suggestion was with tongue firmly in cheek. That is why I am getting rid of them, they were driving me nust when I tried to put a set together. The Dragon ones are much better and easier to work with.

Here she is, an Chilian Late M51 on annual range (red flag, "hot" tank) exercise 1996. Used Dragon tracks (argghhhh!!). Decals from spares box weathered with oil wash and pigments.

Awesome D. I think you outdid yourself again. The range flag is a great touch! Love the dried mud.

Nice build. Im not a big fan of glarry camo schemes ... mainly why I stick to WW2 ...so wont comment on that. My comments are more to do with your weathering. Looking at the photos, it appears the sand colour used in the camo and in your weathering are the same colour. It get hard to tell which is which. Might be better to use a brown colour for weathering, so as to contrast more?

Effective camoflage as it blends with the ground instead of contrasting with it.
