Just curious, but is this build for the True North Strong and Free Campaign?
zaltar
You guessed correct
. Seems like these campaigns influence what I build next, but I am open to everything modern so the inspiration keeps pouring in.

Thanks Chris! I will definitely be using that to update it to 3rd generation side skirts.
Also:
Does anyone know where I can find the ARMO Barrel? And the Storm Miniatures is on the way! Included are the Echelon Decals and Barracuda Camo Netting

Armo 35793 Leopard 2A6 (Tamiya 35271) ... this is the one you could use.
Try this:

Unless your absolutely hard set to get an aftermarket barrel, the kit one will build up very nicely.
Are you planning on the Barracuda Cam?
cheers
One of the serious problems in planning against Canadian doctrine is that the Canadians do not read their manuals, nor do they feel any obligations to follow their doctrine.

I agree with Rick the Tamiya barrel is great. Sean save your cash for something else. If you want to go all out on AM parts get the tow cables from eureka, you can get those at the Barrel store. The tow shackles from Perfect Scale add nice detail to the model. Also the MG from Perfect Scale is better then the stock Tamiya gun. There was some Can. Leos with the FN style gun mounted, I think its called the C6, you can get a good resin version of that from Legends, its on my 2A4NO. You can get the Perfect Scale kits from Track Jam.

Do you have a close up of the bolt?
Of course I do....courtesy of Combat Camera....the high res image shows all the bolt detail.
http://www.combatcamera.forces.gc.ca/netpub/server.np?find&catalog=photos&template=detail_eng.np&field=itemid&op=matches&value=8004&site=combatcamera Drilling the recessed bolts out is not required. As you can clearly see in the image there is a metal washer and then the bolt. You could simply punch a thin disk as the washer and then punch a bolt head....glew them on over the recessed bolts and you are done.
Another way would be to fill the recessed holes with putty, sand them smooth and then add the washer and bolt detail. If you are using the Tichy bolts....just cut off the stems and attach them.
I think drilling the holes out has too much potential for damaging the surrounding plastic...as it appears to have happened slightly with Chris' attempt on the 3rd gen side skirts.

Jason give it a try its fast and very clean. the damage you are talking about could have been prevented by using the right size drill bit. The Tichy bolt heads do have a washer.
By keeping the stems attached the bolts are easier to handle. There are 100 bolts to deal with.

Sauceman,
I was contemplating doing it however I'm not sure if thats what I wanna do. I really love the time and effort it takes to finish a model in the paint and weathering process but I don't think I can cover all that up. I got the netting just in case though. I'm sure I will use it at some point.

There lies the dilema, spend the time painting and weathering, or installing the camo and cover everything up LOL.
When I do the Barracuda cam it will be with a HobbyBoss kit, where the soft detail does not matter.
cheers

Some updates:
I got ahold of the ARMO Barrel but I got it for cheap, I got it for 10USD and tow cables that Chris J mentioned for $4 USD.
I wanted to ask everyone:
What PE set would you use? Voyager Leopard 2A5 or Eduard Leopard 2A6 Detail Set?

Sean where did you get the cable for 4 buck? Thats a good deal. The PE you want is the big Ed set that has the slat with 36 028 detail set. This set is the best one. Don't forget the shakles from PSM.

Direct from Perfect Scale, you can get the MG at the same time. About those Eureka cables if you don't mind telling me? I need 5 sets. $4 dollars is a lot cheaper then $10, which is what I paid for them the last time I ordered them.

Sorry Chris, they are actually Karaya Metal but I still got them for cheap. I thought these were the ones you were talking about.
I called Roll Models today and they were extra giving today
, but I've dealt with them alot. Just call and make sure they have some in stock.
Their direct number: (763) 545-0399
and the stock number: KAR35005

Milo I'm talking about perfect Scale Malibu's MG, its well detailed and the scale is better, there's no PE with it. Now that we're on the subject how about a FN gun and mount for the Dutch, Norwegian and Canadian Leopards.
Sean thanks for the tip. You're right about them being Karaya. I ordered Eureka and the Karaya came. They must have changed names or something like that.

The Voyager set for the 2A6 is excellent...it even includes a metal barrel.
The Eduard set is also very good.

Jason, Chris - thanks for the hint on those bolts! Almost missed them on my Leo... LOL
Good thing I havent put any primer on it yet. Seems like an easy fix...
Rick, I had exactly same idea about Barracuda on Hobby Boss kit! Should work just fine!
BTW
I know most of you guys got the Camo netting from Lawrence already, but just in case somebody is still interested - I have those in stock. Tan color to match Barracuda tones.
Can be purchased on its own or with Leo upgrade set.
Cheers!
