Hi
All

Just finished this one up for a GB I'm run over on the FSM fourms. Thought I get some other opinions here.

I used Gun Trucks track painting/weathering advice I found here for the tracks.I scratch built the grab handles with brass rod. The barrel is from the Barrel Store. I used future on the 2 black lights to make them look glossy as this is how it appears in photos. The log on the back is courtesy of my backyard.
(Sorry, CMOT and Jacques my hobby room is on the ground floor so the kit log didn't sail very far.) Lastly, I left the DShk of because the kit one is a piece of *#%&! CA didn't even hold it together!

And a big THANK YOU goes out to CMOT and Jacques for helping me out when I had questions.

Now, on with the show.

All comments, welcome.

See ya

Scott

This looks to be a very tidy effort, are you going to do some weathering on this build?

Hey
CMOT

Actually already did some. The tracks have a rust coat and she was given an overall wash of dust. But I'm stopping there for now, because the decals are parade markings. And as a former M1A1 crewman I can tell you that when we were going to show off our tanks we cleaned them like you wouldn't believe.

I am always willing to listen to different view points and take suggestions though.

See ya

Scott

Nice build looks tidy,
i would give the tracks a dry brush and get some bare metal showing through the rust were the track would hit the concrete the rust would have worn off.nice and clean very tidy build though.

Sorry Scott I didn't realise it was a parade vehicle. Regarding the tracks I believe they are painted on Russian parade vehicles using gloss black, but there are others here much better versed than I to clarify that. My only reason for believing that are some pictures I have seen but I don't remember where.

Here are some of the pictures I took at Bovington of a T55 painted as a parade vehicle (I believe), the tracks are not painted with the exception of spare track links but it may help you with this project. I am sorry I didn't put them up before but I had no idea that was what you were building.

Hello Scott, good work overall, a few things I noticed and some constructive suggestions:

-There seems to be very big gap in the front glacis area. Not very familiar with russian tanks, was this intended?
-The overall painting looks great although maybe a little bit to dull or matte? If it was intended to be a parade model maybe more gloss or semi-gloss would work best?
-Nice detail with the log in the back, although it looks suspended on the air, maybe some sort of scratched cable or rope would work? Also on the picture the left end of the log seems to be over the tracks...
Agree with Darren, maybe some dust and more weathering on the tracks would help..

Again, great work overall

Mirko
