I'm looking at building several T-72 variants, and I see that the older DML T-72B kits come with the 6 spoke road wheels, is there anything particularly wrong with these wheels? Are the dimensions of them reasonably accurate. Reason I ask is that using the road wheels from that kit and sticking them on a Tamiya kit seems a cheaper option than getting the Miniarm ones, which im struggling to find anyway.

Hi!
The earlier T-72's have 8 spokes, like the tamiya kit. Later one's have 6 (miniarm produces 6 spokes wheels too). I've never encountered a 5 spokes wheel, but I never saw the DML kit either.

Dragon T-72 kits all include both 6-spoked wheels and 8 spoked wheels, you can combine them, I've seen T-72 with 6-spoked wheels and 8 spoked wheels at the same time. Best regards.

Thanks for the input, im more trying to determine whether the DML wheels are dimensionally accurate, Id like to know if they are the correct size or if there are any problems with them?

I don't know if the Dragon wheels are dimmensionally accurate, I don't have a Tamiya kit for comparison, but I can tell you that they're smaller than ZTZ-99 wheels, the rim is the same size, but the rubber band in Dragon kit is the thinner. I think you shouldn't care only about the wheels, the tank itself isn't dimmensionally accurate, it is almost 0.5 cm shorter, so: You have a short tank, then you'll have shorter spaces between suspension arms/wheels and thus smaller wheels. Best regards.

I dont plan on using the DML kit, just the wheels if I can-I will be using them on a Tamiya T-72 converted to a T-90S using Miniarm stuff, as well as a T-72B using Tamiya kit and Miniarm. I will use the DML kit and convert it to a T-72BM using the Kirin set and just ignore the accuracy issues with that build!
