Hi folkes
this is my first post on Armorama, so let me start by greeting all of you!!

-----

I am at this stage in my Italeri's Kubelwagen, and would much appreciate some comments on the wheathering, and on the general looks of the car.
It's been done with the hairspray technique for the paint chipping and fading, and now artist's oils paynes gray mixed with raw umber

please, don't be gentle, i can take it lool
thank you all very much!!

Best regards
Joćo

The overall scheme looks good. I would hit it with a coat of flat clear as it seems a little to glossy right now. Beyond that, perhaps a bit of dusty pigment on the wheels and lower portions of the main body.

Agree... needs some dust on it.

See how the wheels aren't actually "black", but more of a light grey color? That's from dust.

Oh, and the figure is a bit pale.

Hi again =)

thanks a lot for the comments

the procedure i was thinking of following now is, repair the seat and front cover of the spare tire, maybe clean a bit more the wash in these places, then do a flat coat on all model (not dead flat, kind of eggsheled) wich will also lighten the tone, and i dont really like it how it is now, i find it too dark, and finally as i dont have pigments i was wondering of dust the lower part of the sides of the model and wheels with tamiya buff. and that would be it, model finished.
any sugestions in regard to this, or anything you might want to add??

that guy was from the russian front, that is why he is so untanned

Thank you
Best regards

Even regular artist chalk pastels would work instead of the typical "model pigments". Those are typically less expensive.

Hi Guys

redone the oil wash, in a brown tone, to cover up for the places where it was missing
after that, the matt varnish

ready for the final step

Tell me what you think

Hi Joćo. Your kubelwagen is pretty much OK, unless you plan to weigh it down with more built up mud. The details are well defined.
The problem ... in my eyes .... is the lack of detail and colour contrast. I built the Italeri version about 7 years ago, but added the hood to hide the fact the inner detail is lacking. Its surprising what a few boxes, rolls, ammo, etc in the back seat can do. Don“t be afraid to bring in a little colour.

The body looks good now, but the tires are still too shiny. Even right off the assembly line tires are never that shiny. Spray some more matte varnish and maybe a light pigment dusting to knock down the shine. You could even use black pigments if you want to knock the shine down but don't want to add an actual dusty look to the model.

Hi
I've dusted the model, with 9:1 buff and flat earth, and finished the headlights with silver paint first, and then filled them with micro kristal klear to simulate the lenses

still have to take a final care of the tires where it comes to painting and shine
and then the model will be finished

here it is so far

Cheers =)

This is my Kuppelwagon from the Bitter Taste of Defeat campaign that I have just been finishing up.

I just finished the dio, but if the truth is told, I still have some weathering to do on this guy. It is the Bego version btw.

I have a resin box under the poster which illustrates what some of the members where saying above. I wish you could see the box better though.

IMAG0009

I also tried this product. SMELLY!!! and not quite as dark as I thought a Sepia wash should be. I almost prefer my Sepia Guache, or even an oil based wash, but maybe with multiple layers it might built up more.

IMAG0021

But I like the way your weathering is coming along. You have a great looking model IMO. I think you are a few steps ahead of me at this point so I am following your lead now. lol

Aren't Kuppelwagons cool?

Nice job on it a few things to say are.

First the interior is clean and the outside does not match as open top would be close.
Second I think the tires are too gray now.

Try and get some Vallejo Panzer aces Rubber light and dark or use Nato black from Tamiya.

Third see if Archer has any Placards for the interior, dashboard
