Not to hijack Arda's posting I've decided to post a few in progress shots of the T-72B I'm working in this seperate thread.
It's the Tamiya T-72M1 converted to a T-72B with ERA. The conversion is (ofcourse) from Miniarm. Turret, hull front and wheels are separate sets. Tracks are from Friul.
Right now the model has been spray painted but that's as far as I got. No images of that yet, sorry.

Great work! Where is the Barrel from? Model point? That photo etch on the barrel sure is nice.

The barrel is from RB Models. Great and very cheap.
The antenna is from Modelpoint. But Modelpoint is a dead product. Way to hard to get except from a few obscure Internet sources.
The smoke launchers are Lionroar. The mount had to be build from scratch as that part was missing from my Miniarm turret set.
The spare ammo-box for the commanders MG is what it is ... a spare..from a Part PE set.
I was thinking of adding a Tank figure for the commanders hatch. But I'm terrible at painting figures.

Very nice,
The best looking version of the T-72 by far...
How did you find the instructions of the Miniarm sets?

Wow great looking T-72! The build looks very clean, cant wait to see it all painted up! Its a damn shame the modelpoint stuff is hard to find now, with quite a few T-72's planned I really could use some of those superb antenna bases!
Cant wait to see the next progress, if you're no good at figure painting you could always display this abandoned, I think the Russians captured a few Georgian T-72B's that had been left by their crews.

Does the RB Models barrel have the bolt heads on the ends of fume extractor?
If it does, then that is one excellent barrel!

Company ModelPoint work, and manufactures, yet they do not have an official web address on the moment. Buy their products can be in this shop:
http://armor35.ru/index.php
And also at their official representatives:

Yes the RB barrel has the bolts on the end of the fume extractor. There is a PE ring which fitted on the end of the turned fume extractor part, which has the bolts molded on.

How did you find the instructions of the Miniarm sets?
Well..let's put it this way. I just turned 42 yesterday and still have my handsome looks. But I notice more and more gray hear on my ever dense turning scalp and my eyesight isn't what it used to be.
I blame the cottage modelling industry and their instructions for that.
Joking aside, the Miniarm instructions were poor. If not better described as utterly chaotic.

Since it seems relevant to the discussion, I see on Voyager's web site that they've got modern Soviet smoke launchers and aerial mounts on their "Coming Soon" list. They list two different smoke launcher sets - one containing sixteen empty cartridges, one containing sixteen full cartridges. The aerial set contains four turned metal mounts with twelve PE base plates - not sure if they're meant to be laminated or if you get a choice of different base plate types.

Marcel - Amazing build so far! I love the conversion and the barrel. I'll definately be looking up the RB Barrel.
Not to jump ahead but how do you plan on tackling the decals to make a Georgian T-72B?

Thanks for sharing this important piece of info Al.
That's great news and I'm gonna keep checking Voyager for these items.

Well I'm not a sucker for 'hysterical correctness' so a bit of lea-way will do the trick.
The numbers came (yes, they're already on..) from a MIG set and the Nato style designation on the left front fender is a bit of improvisation from left over decals. That's about it.

I agree with Olegas, they are easy to get from Armor35.ru I just ordered a load of modelpoint accessories from there for my BMP-2 build.

Marcel - Thanks for your reply back to my question. I look forward to seeing some more progress!
Most of the T-72Bs I saw in photos from the Osetia conflict had the commanders wind screen. Are you planning on doing that or leaving it off all together??
Also - Just to double check, but would you recommend the RB Model barrel over the turned aluminum in the Miniarm set??
I'm strapped in for the ride as I have everything short of the commanders wind screen and decals to build a Georgian Tank from the 2008 conflict as well. I will be following your progress with mcu delight! Keep going! Cheers!
I found alot of images off Getty Images website and Polish Militaria "Tank Power" series books had one issues dedicated to Osetia 2008 conflict.

Well Marcel,
here is another of your excellent builds ! I'm eager to see it with some paint on it.
If I'm correct you had to scratchbuild the smoke dischargers support, hadn't you?
Olegas, thank you for the Modelpoint "shop".
