Well hope you all like it. Mud was needed to hide kit faults, Yet I am happy with the end result. After being out of the hobby for a long time this is my first finished model since getting back in. ( 55 Drums and cargo will be added later) Please comment ,as it will help me improve what little I know.

Nice dusty/dirty finish Pvtparts. This is a lovely and interesting model. Nice addition to anybodies collection. Theres nothing really I can point out thats wrong, just some things I might have done .....Faded the timber more for the cab and body doors, using same base colour and dark yellow or light greys. Wood would take a severe beating in the Russian climate. A dark/black wash to bring out details/shadows better between the wooden planks, and probably some chips/rust to the metal frames from the body door and drive casing...burnt sienna wash around rivets etc.
What you have done is not wrong by no means .... these are just some of my personal tastes on finishing! All the best

Thanks all. Ive always been spoiled by Tamiya so to get back into the hobby and deal with this kit was a challange to say the least. Plastic..I hear what you say and love all input. The way I looked at it was ...As raw wood to be painted. I figured the paint would really soak into the wood, Which ( in my train of thought) ,The vehicle would have to take on a severe beating before actual wood would come through. I wish I had done as you say ,but I backed out in fear it would be a bit to much. Thanks for your input.

Looks very good. I like the use of mud. What did you use to make it?

The mud was made with the help of Armorama. I did a search and found a post linking to ipmsstockholm.org ( sorry dont recall the author) Anyway I used..Clean potting soil, fine sand and mixed it in 50% water, 50% white glue, added soil to get it goopy, sprinkled in some sand then added Tamiya earth acrylic. Dab it on where you want and wait 24 hrs to dry. It holds on very well.

Private

This is a good looking model. It depicts an interesting subject, and well applied mud job.

For your consideration, the front passenger side tire appears to have a seam running down the center, and both the first and second pics appear to show the track bulging away from the suspension.

This is a good effort on your part.
