Someone told me the T-54 has two "Z" welds on the front glacis vs. a straight weld on the T-55. Does anyone have a photo or a drawing that would illustrate this? I've looked and looked, and I can't see it in photos. Maybe I just don't know what to look for...

Yes, very early T-54 has the front plates welded in a different way:
Late T-54 and T-55 has a straight weld line, barely visible here below towing hooks:
This is a Tiran 5, IDF modified T-55. Hope this helps.
