Hi Martyn

I'd speak to Frenchy, he has copies of some great Russian language books on Armour in Chechnya. He really helped me with images for my BMP-2 project.

There were T-62 as not modernization, and modernization to the level of M.
For the variant T-62M (object 166M6), adopted on arms in 1983 is typical:
caterpillar with RMSH from T-72. In addition, there are two hydraulic shock absorbers at the nodes of suspensions, the second drive wheels. Establish a fire control system "Wave", which includes a laser rangefinder CBA-2 (CBA-1), the sight TSHSM-41U, stabilizer "Meteor-M1 ballistic computer NC-62, and a set of guided weapons 9K116-1" Sheksna. The gun has a heat jacket. Worth the extra armor on the turret, rubberized fabric screens on the sides of the body, Anti-radiation coating (possible option, and without such coverage).
Here are some pictures of tanks T-62 and T-62M in Chechnya.

I can't be 100% sure but from the photos I've seen of T-62's in Chechnya they all seem to have been updraded to use the RMSH tracks. Trumpeters m1972 should be a sure bet as it includes those tracks (and sprocket).

Cheers,
/E
