Hello
This is my first model that I have completed since returning to the hobby after a number of years. It is the Dragon Tiger 1 Late with a mix of Aber and Eduard photoetch. I tried a couple of new techniques, zimmerit from putty, paint chipping, etc., and am happy with the way it turned out. This is the first time I used enamels to paint with so I didnt get to use oil washes as much as I normally would have. Thanks for looking!

I like it ai.
looks like you have done apretty good job on the chiping i think the pictures dont do this tiger any favours.
however the one nitpic ive got is how the paint job tranzfers down onto the area under the side mud guards. i think that the camo would have ceased at that line because the guards would have been on wile the camoo was aplied.

awesome Tiger you got there Jon i especially love the attention to detail with regards to the battle damage giving it a scarred look very well done i suppose you could hide the little nit-pick David picked up on by using some mud splatter or by applying some rust

Nice Kitty!

On that nit-pick about camo behind or under mud-guards...

I'm not entirely certain of this for Tiger I- but it's known for KingTigers that mud-guards would be removed during painting (some excel. pics showing this in the Spielberger & Feist book on Panzerkampfwagen VI), and then replaced, and matched where needed. - so I am thinking that it's OK to show camo beneath a missing skirt.

I WOULD think some shading and dirt-difference demarking a recently-lost guard panel would be a nice "fix"- at present it does appear that the vehicle has been painted in its present incomplete state... and not as I think you are trying to show- a painted vehicle which has later lost some guards in action.

But... It lokks pretty darned nice either way!

Thanks for kind words guys!
I was kinda in a rush to get it done, so I over looked some of the finer points of weathering. All in all, it was fun build!

Loking forward to sharing my next model with you guys.

You might want to apply a bit of red primer where the Zimm is chipped, otherwise it looks super!
