Hi guys,

Some of you may have followed the build blog I did on the Churchill Interior here:

https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/154977#1298960

Whilst I have still a few items to add to the interior I though I'd put up a few shots for comment on the overall model. I have started the weathering process, but still have a couple of items to add to the exterior, namely cabled and the brackets for the spare track.

However as I haven't yet settled on how I want to display the kit, I'm in no hurrey to add the cables yet.

The tank represents a vehicle from C Squadron 14th CTR (Calgary regiment) in the UK in 1942, pre Dieppe.

I know may don't comment here but for those who do your thoughts/comments would be appreciated.

Nice work Al,
A bit more mud and grass on the tracks and suspension would be appropriate.
Looking forward to the finished product.
Silly question ....... Are planning to pick up their Dieppe version ???
Cheers

Alan I quite like the level of dirt on the tracks, but I feel the dirt level and washes on the body and specifically the turret could do with a little more work to really make the detail pop out at you.

Hi Al,

How about the TC shrugging his shoulders to the crew of a wrecker as it pulls up by the side? It would explain all your hatches being open.
Didn't Scale Link / Lead Sled do a Morris CDSW breakdown?
Just a thought.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't finished on the weathering yet. Looking at the reference picture I have there is some mud/grass built up under the tracjs as the front, but the remainder of the vehicle looks more dusty than dirty. I shall get a bit more done next week and see how things atand.

Hi Kevin, - that was one possibility I though of, hence not attaching the tow cables yet, but given the cost, I'm leaning towards adding a Tilly and having a basic maintainence situation going on, with ammo being loaded and the engine being worked on. Maybe adding the Resicast mechanic.

Thanks for the thoughts guys, more work required.

Hey Al she's really looking the part now, it's such a shame you can't see more of that gorgeous interior work you did.

More filth is a requirement obviously but I know you've got that in hand !

great work mate

Hi Alan

I think its pretty good as is...if its depicting training then the wear/grime build up isn't the same as 'in action'. Cleaning would take part at the end of each training period along with a CES (complete equipment schedule) check.

Prolonged periods would see more build up of mud/chewed up grass etc...really it depends on your scenario and what you want to depict.

Great blog thanks for sharing it.
