Russian firm Miniart send us news of their latest plastic figure set release. 35083 British Royal Engineers.

An interesting release for British WW2 fans, these four figures include a wide variety of gear and equipment, the set including 66 parts. Built out of the box they make a great mine clearing scene, with mines and signs included.

with all the different task that the sapper does/did the sapper figure sets can keep on coming as far as I'm concerned!

bring on the water supply set and the feild defence set 1 & 2 & 3 ( wire obstacles & trenches & concreteing ), and the bridge building (non equipment and bailey ) set, and the demolitions set and timber workers and the boat operators set and the mulberry harbour sets ( stevadors and harbour operators/builders ) and plant operators and drivers set and fuel supply set and the road/airfeild construction set and a mine laying set and they could also do all the equipment and some more german pioneers . Hobarts funnies would be another lot of good sapper subjects!!

Nice looking set- I can't see any bayonets though, I hope Miniart haven't forgotten them.

A sapper always needs a bayonet to "prod" for mines

Well done again Miniart

The detail is excellent ,near resin quality .
I just recieved my first miniart jeep crew set and was astounded with the detail in the head profiles, the face and hand detail is exceptional.

I look forward to getting these figures as well as the tank riders.

I like the look of this product and have been looking forward to it since the news first came out. While I do not have any plans for them it is one of those figure sets you just have to have as you never know when it will come in handy.

I forgot a set, I must of been half asleep to forget this one, I mean how could I forget about the BD set ? thats right the Bomb Disposal set. I can see it now, officer sat astride a 500 pounder and 1/2 a dozen sappers sat on their arses taking bets as to when they will need a new rupert

I think that I haven't been fair with Miniart's line of figures. I just dismissed them as relating to the Tamiya figures which I'm not all too fond of. This is a bad habit on my part even if it is understandable. Please keep us informed on Miniart's line of figures as I will most likely start adding them to my stash along with the rest of the crew here

Hi Pat,

Yes, I have 2 boxes . Came up on Netmerchants site about 2/3 day ago. First look says they are pretty good. The respirator cases look a little big, everything else seems to be OK.

I shall do a more indept review this weekend.
