Ok, so here are a few pics of where I am at. The paint is Tamiya NATO Green, with a bit of variation of added light grey and the green mixed together in spots. I intend on just using a single colour, as my build will be a post Afghan, refurbished vehicle without the slats or brackets. I did add the Storm set. There is the Lion Road PE on her, and I used brass rod for the antenna.

I build planes, so I would normally gloss coat now for the decals, or dee-kals for my USA buds , then begine washes, before dull coating. What do you armour guys do after the base coat?

One More shot

BTW, I intend on using a C6 and the proper mounting for it, the German MG mount is not glued in place.

Thanks for looking, comments welcome

Looking good Brad. I think I would fine trim the decals and then put them on with decal setting solutiion.

This is a sharp looking build of a great looking tank Brad. I would advice applying Future or some gloss clear to the areas where you are going to lay down the decals to avoid silvering. Then you can hit it with flat clear afterwards.

Thanks Guys. I was thinking of just hitting the areas where decals will go with a gloss coat, then a flat coat overall, then weathering, but as an aircraft builder, we gloss coat the whole model, because when applying washes, it flows better. When applying washes on a flat coat, they tend to puddle, and not flow into the nook and cranies. The shade of green is the way it is in the pics due to the flash, the actual shade isn't as light as it appears in the pics.

Paul, the antenna is the arangement that most Canadian Leopard 2A6M CAN have.

Thanks again for the kind words guys.

Brad, spraying the whole model with Future isn't a bad idea for helping with the application of your wash. Just keep in mind that you will need to add your flat clear coat before you do the rest of your weathering, otherwise a lot of your hard work will disappear (the clear can blow it off, or it will darken the subtle effects, blending them with the rest of the base color).

Brad,

I would gloss coat the exterior, decal it, then seal the decals with another gloss coat. Then do your washes. Then dull coat it and finish off your weathering.

I'm all about future for a gloss coat. It works great as a setting solution too, where the detail is not too prominent; in that case use microsol or solvaset. My advice is to future the whole thing and let it dry. Make sure it's a good, shiny coat. Then put a dab of future where the decals go, gently 'burnish' the decals down with a soft brush to work out the excess future and use a dry, soft brush to soak up the excess. For me, that does it every time. I do washes and most weathering on the gloss coat too. When you're ready, a good flat coat and finish weathering w pastels (pigments for guys with lots of cash). That's my $0.02

as for 'spot gloss' approach, I find gloss coats tend to darken the paint, so glossing the whole thing is best. It's essential for good washes too (i wash with artist oils)
