Another question for the JS experts.....
Based on photos I have, I don't believe the Russian JS series fenders were directly welded to the hull, only the vertical brackets were? Common sense says so?
Am I correct?
Sorry if an answer was given in another post but I just wanted to be more specific......

Paul, the photos I have indicate that there was an angled flange along the inner edge of the fender, which was welded to the hull side and to the fender itself. The vertical brackets were there for reinforcement and to prevent the fender flexing too much.
