Finished my T from RPM. I tried a new method on the canvas and think I went a bit overboard. Live and learn. Was a pretty easy build and alot of fun. Being my second completed model in many a year Im very happy with it. I did notice a couple of seams and such and will impove on my next project. Hope ya like it......we need the odd vehicle now and again!
As always the more you say, the more I learn.

Private.
You have mentioned the seams in your narrative, so other than that, this thing is good to go. Your barrel weathering looks very good, as do the wheels. This is a neat kit, and I like it. My compliments on your build.
ps: kleenex/glue method for the canvas, or something else??
pps: Who makes this kit?

Yes it is the kleenex and glue method. The kit is by RPM. Thank you kindly for your thoughts.

Can't wait to see the water truck when it's done.

Looks great. Could you describe the process you used for the canvas? That 55 gallon drum looks so modern, I guess they haven't changed them in a hundred years?

The drum came with the kit . For the canvas use a single ply of Tissue paper. Cut it so it is about 5mm larger than size needed (for overhang). Mix a thin solution of water and white glue. Brush the solution on the area to be covered then place the tissue and rinkle to taste. You can dab the solution on areas to flatten the tissue.Using the brush dipped in solution I then wrapped the paper to the underside of the top. Let dry and using a sharp knife cut out areas where needed. With a bit more practice I think it will be great for soft tops.

I'm really liking this truck. I've been wanting to do some trucks for a while now but just haven't gotten one.
I had to go check out some reference pics because at first glance it looks like the steering wheel is on upside down but it is correct.
It looks like in the third pic the right tie rod (could be something else) is not mated up correctly at the wheel. Good just be the angle though.

I think the canvas is a bit too wrinkled. I think it should have broader, more front-to-rear wrinkles.....it looks very loose to have the small side-to-side wrinkles. I haven't seen photos of the originals though, so I could be out of line, that's just my impression.
Otherwise, I especially like the coloring of the brass radiator and the weathering/shading on the paint. An interesting change of pace as well. If this is your second model after returning to the hobby, I'd say you're jumping back in w/ little problem!

Grifter I agree about the canvas. I overdid it and didnt want to chance messing everything up by re-doing it. Lets just say the original was destroyed and the troops improvised with a captured bedsheet. #:-)

Looks really good for a comeback kid! I agree with the compliment on the brass radiator, super! If you're really not happy with the canvas, you should be able to peel it back and redo it. That's one of the good things about white glue and tissue, it doesn't attack the plastic.
