Im putting together some Masterclub tracks for the T-72 and I just wondered if anyone knew how many links there should be to each side? The set includes 210 links in total, and in the past ive read that the Friul set comes with only enough to make both sides with no spare (220 links included in the Friul set)

Best regards,
Andreas

Hi,
I have used the Friul sets on every T-72 I ever built, and I always had a decent amount of extra tracks (30,40???)
I don't know about the amount of tracks you need, but what's important is that they should be tight, no sag.
cheers,
Matthijs

There are 96 links on each side, on a real vehicle.

Adam

Hi Adam,
Good to know, but that sounds pretty loose to me.
Best regards,
Andreas

As many as it takes. That is not a wise crack, it is a statement of fact. It does not matter how many are on the real vehicle, it will vary on models. Short hull Shermans have 79 shoes on the real vehicle. Never built a model of one that used more than 77, some kits 76. Common seance 101 tip, count how many are in the rubber band tracks that come in the kit and go from there.
You've read wrong information then. Like some one else mentioned, there are always a bunch left over with the Friul set. I have built so many sets I ended up with a free set. I think it works out to be 3 sets of Friul T72 tracks give you enough left over to do another set. It is the Model Kasten tracks that give you no spares.

Thanks for the information Andreas and Adam!
And nevermind about the comment about Fruil tracks, I misread, its the MK ones which come with no extra.

Of course, it may vary depending on the kit...
But real ones have 96 links/side.
