Ive found a set of Modelpoints T-72B M1989 (BM) conversion available and just wondered if anyone has an experience with this set or knew how accurate it was. From what I understand the conversion set includes Kontakt-V era, the type D turret armor blocks, K-V side panels as well as new front glacis armor. Previously ive read on here George Keseyan describe MP's set as junk, yet judging on a T-90 build on the Russian panzer35 forum the opinion seems to be the MP stuff is far more accurate than Miniarms stuff. Anyone have any more opinions or ideas on this.???

Best regards,
Andreas

Here ya go Andreas!

I use google translate to try and work out whats being said, and judging from the builders comments there some accuracy issues with the Miniarm T-90 conversion, if you skip to the last few pages you can see he has totally re-done the turret cladding and used the MP K-5 era in question, along with lots of other MP bits.
I really liked your T-90 build by the way! The camo looked really cool.

Rob, in order to build the t72 You are talking about You need a B style turret. This is not contained in the MP set. The guy is kitbashing the Miniarm and MP set. My personal opinion is that the miniarm kit is completely fine and the changes our fellow modeller is making somehow border insanity.
I have the roof top and the side hull armor from MP. The roof armor is better in Miniarm, the side armor is equal. They say that the MP turret side era is better than the miniarm. Another problem for You would be the late style fenders. They say that the MP turret side era is better than the miniarm. The MP conversion provides only front addon era and no fenders. I have only one picture of a T72BM with early fenders, its quite rare.
My suggestion, building the Miniarm version is enough to make an award winning model...

Hi Rob!
Thanks a lot for the link and your kind comments! I´m glad you liked my T-90. To be honest, I follow/ed several of your builds here on armorama. You´re very very talented! Honestly. I wasn´t so active in the past here, but I´m going to change this
Best regards,
Andreas
