This is one that I've completed over the last 2 weeks. It's Tamiya's Char B1, with the Blast Models German B1 bis Flammenwerfer conversion, and Echelon's decals for the Prince Eugen division that operated in Yugoslavia. The Blast conversion was fairly straight forward, and I didn't encounter anything unusual. Fit was generally good.

I do want to thank Frenchy for supplying me with some very nice photos of Flammenwerfers in action. Truely a great resource to this community. Thanks!

Anyway, I still don't have a real photo booth, and on the computer I'm using right now, I don't have any photo editing software. The real color is a bit more blue than you see in the pictures. I Tamiya German Grey, and then did mild highlights after adding in some intermediate blue to the grey, and then did some shadow effects with that same mixture, this time adding black. Weathering was done with oil raw umber washes, as well as a very light tan colored wash to give it some contrast. Also tried dry-brushing with both lighter and darker grey colors depending on the location to give it a bit more natural feel. Finished up with a very thin coat of tamiya flat earth, and then deck tan to give it a dusty/dirty look, sealed with clear flat, and finally a various mix of pigments brushed on.

I think the hardest part of the entire kit was getting ANY paint to bond to the chain in the back. I tried a number of things, and ended up with just doing a coat of a dark brown color out of a Krylon spray can. Even now, it's not perfect, but I'm happy enough.

On to some pictures!

Thanks for looking, and any comments are appreciated!

Also of note... if anyone would like the remainder of the Echelon decal sheet, just send me a few bucks and it's yours. I also have some other detail parts from the Blast conversion that weren't used. Mainly the very nicely detailed cut cupola, the "Renault" badge, and the turret hatch and hinge. Of note, when test fitting, the hatch isn't perfect when in the closed position, so this would only be useful if you plan on posing it open. The hatch and Renault badge can be use for either a French of German vehicle. The cut cupola would be only for German vehicles, although the Echelon decals include markings for vehicles that were recaptured by the French later in the war, so are under French control, but have the german cupola installed. Anyway, send a PM if interested. Again, just a few bucks and it's yours.

Nice work Jessy, very clean build and the paint is spot on. It is hard to tell from the photos, but the chain looks good to me! Thanks for sharing.

Sweet! These tanks are so cool looking, kinda like an advanced WWI design. I'm thinking of building "Fantasque" with that bizarre camo scheme...

I've been wanting to tackle one of these for quite some time. The paint and weathering look awesome. If you hadn't mentioned the loss of some tints, I would never have known. Keep up the good work.

The flammenwerfer version or the Char in general?

Nah, shouldn't be too hard to hand paint that. I think it would look pretty cool.

If you mean the camo, I am absolutely going to hand paint that. I need the decals for the name and such though.

Either the Char or the Tadpole. Early WW2 or WW1. But, I have to put them off as I have two Tigers to build.
