I found this pic on another website. I didn't know the IDF used Strykers. Anyone have any more info on their use by Israel?

I read somewhere that they had one to trial, but I cannot remember where I saw that. I will look through the Stryker books I have when I get home

I don't think they ever went through on actually buying the Strykers and went for a domestically produced APC (Namer?)

This one on the site JWest21 posted is pretty unique looking w/the armored covers on the driver and TC's positions.

From the bumper numbers it appears that there were at least 2 of them. The one in the first picture has the same protective cover over the driver's position.

The one over the TC's position reminds me of those old time diving suit helmets!
I cannot find where I read about the IDF testing Strykers, sorry. It had to be online somewhere because it wasn't in the books I have. Sorry Gino

I believe the IDF received three Strykers (check the vehicle reg), some where fitted with Trophy, and I also believe they may have been used in the occupied territories. Would make for an interesting project!

I've read that the Stryker has not been selected by the IDF mainly because of its cost. The IDF evaluated three vehicles, one was equipped with the Trophy system (#400001) :
and another one was used operationally in the Territories back in 2006 (#400002, just like the one in Gino's post) :
Here's another view of #400003 without the covers :

- 3 received (01,02,03)
- 1 with Trophy (Meil-Ruach)
- Will not enter service, due to high price as mentioned..

From what I found online, the IDF received 3 of the earlier versions without any upgrades or suplemental armor. One ISraeli commander called it "a piece of junk" and did not think it offered good protection from RPGs
