I am working on the Trumpeter LAV III and am working on Part 8 and have a question regarding part B1. (See instructions below). As you will also see, from the Picture DVD you can see a box stowed in this location. Should I omit part B1?

I think that the winch uses only one vehicle in the squadron or platoon.

Basically one our of every four LAV IIIs has a complete winch fitted.....if you mount the parts ensure you also attached the cable....if you don't fit the parts then stuff it with whatever you want.

If you decide not to mount the winch you need not install the Capstan assy and parts B18 and B1 from section 8, part B74 from section 9, the front fairlead starting with part D5 in section 14, parts B59, B62 and B58 from section 16, and parts B2 and B63 from section 17.

And if you decide to not install the winch, you would need to replicate the mount for the front fairlead...





and make a plate to replace the pulley that goes under the winch hole.
